Welcome!!

Hello All!!

Welcome to my space. I started this blog after a conversation with a co-worker, who thought blogging would be a good outlet for all of my random thoughts. More so, when concerned with all the adjustments that I needed to make when I made the shift from Mumbai to New York.

While both Mumbai and New York are big cities full of people who are always running late, there are a number of differences between both these cities on account of culture, attitude and climate. Having made this move, I realized it was more than just changing an address!! This was about changing my attitude and my outlook towards life.

Starting with baby steps, I have come to realize that making this move has humbled me a lot. It has taught me to look at things from a broader perspective, not be judgmental about people or events and accept each with all that it brings. It has been difficult but has been a growing experience.

In this blog you will find a number of short stories that describe everyday experiences we take for granted as we grow old, and also some of my introspections. I also talked a bit about my personal life, when I lost  my mother. And then I bounced back into writing about daily life.

On this blog, you will also find useful links to buying furniture, getting services or finding apartments in NYC. If you are moving to NYC and would like guidance on how to get set-up, do provide comments on this page and I will respond to you.

I do hope you enjoy reading my blog.  If you would like to get in touch with me or would like to see something on this blog,  please post your comments on my blog.

Dear Soorashree, You have come up with an unusual idea by writing on your blog. Though I am not as “techno-savy” as u all youngsters are as far as as computers are concerned I am really interesred in updating myself. Remember the famous saying by earstwhile actor Raj Kapur who said that ” If u do not step and dance in tune with time u will soon lag behind”. I do not wish to lag behind. love Baba
